Frontier Red

At first, this red blend (Syrah, Grenache, Petite Sirah, Mouvedre, Consault and Cartignane) from Fess Parker is delicious, big and full. After about half a glass, though, its sweetness overcomes everything else. And just like with many rich and sweet things, after a bit it's a bit much. Would probably be great with something spicy like Cajun, Indian or Chili. Not so good while sitting on the couch getting caught up with tivo. $8.99 at Binny's, $9.99 at Trader Joe's.

As you may know, Robert Parker is the man when it comes to wine reviews and point ratings (although some complain he only likes "big" wines). In addition to starting Wine Advocate or Wine Spectator (can't remember which one is his), he also has this site. Jerry had a great idea that we all chip in on a subscription, making it available to the group. $99 a year.
